The Production Team - Laundry and Bourbon

Laundry and Bourbon has been a true team effort -- an effort centered around a strong commitment to the artist work of women. Here's a little bit about each of us:

Emily Ruebl -- "Elizabeth"
Emily is currently in her second and final year of the Master's in Theatre Arts program. Her most recent roles include Queen Harriet in Stephanie Hero, Ruth in The Homecoming, and the title role in Judith: A Parting from the Body. In fall 2009, she also directed The Serpent, by Joseph Chaikin. In addition to performing on stage, Emily is also a skilled and experience lighting designer, having designed the lighting for such the Theatre Arts Graduate Students productions of Women and Wallace, The Holy Ghostly, and The Serpent.

Chelsea Snyder -- "Hattie"
This is Chelsea's first year in HSU's MA Theatre Arts program, after completing her bachelor's degree in UC Santa Barbara. As well as being an accomplished actor, Chelsea is also a trained singer, and was recently featured in the Music Department's spring opera production. She also appeared in City of Angels and Stephanie Hero, lending her vocal talents to those roles as well.

Jessi Walters -- "Amy Lee"
As a senior in the theatre department, Jessi is a veteran of the HSU stage. She recently appeared as Princess Matilda in Stephanie Hero, and has also been featured in Shakespeare's The Winter's Tale as Paulina and in The Serpent, directed by Emily Ruebl. This is her second time working with director Kristin Mack; Jessi played the role of the Witch in Kristin's production of The Holy Ghostly, by Sam Shepard, in December 2009.

Kristin Mack -- director
Laundry and Bourbon is the second play Kristin has directed this academic year. During fall 2009 semester, she directed Sam Shepard's The Holy Ghostly. She also recently appeared on stage as the mother/psychiatrist in the graduate student production of Women and Wallace. After earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Film Production at Chapman University in 2005, Kristin worked in television for a time before finally moving back into her life-long passion of theatre. She grew up in the theatre, working primarily as an actor during her younger years, and later taking the reins as a director. She is currently nearing the end of her MA Theatre Arts degree, and she chose Laundry and Bourbon as her thesis production for its blend of humor and heart-felt sentiment, all based around an all-female cast.

Liz Uhazy -- lighting and set
Liz is currently the graduate assistant in HSU's scene shop, and she has lent her invaluable expertise to Laundry and Bourbon in both the areas of lighting and set design. Liz earned her bachelor's degree at UC Santa Barbara and is currently in the MFA Scenography program here at HSU.

Sarah Martens -- stage manager
This is Sarah's second production as stage manager this semester, having previously managed Women and Wallace, in which she also acted alongside Kristin. Sarah is currently pursuing her bachelor's degree in Theatre at HSU, and she's proved to be a real asset to the production of Laundry and Bourbon during the rehearsal process.
